Three Piece Hungry Pines

Not everybody had the great pleasure of seeing the Hungry Pines play as a three piece. It was different to say the least. Definitely more raw, but also still very melodic. I recently found these recordings, which were ONLY sold at one show, very long ago, at the Nectar lounge. They were recorded by Lucas Carlyle, hand packed, hand taped by Irene and I, and the cover boasted a picture of my brother and I in our bathing suits. I remember during that show my pedals went out and I spent almost an entire song trying to fix them. Needless to say I think it went pretty well. We sold all of what we called our "PRE EP" cd's, and that night we made our public shout out for a bassist. We had a few offers but the decision went to our friend Bryce. You all know the story from there.

Anyway for a limited time only, I am putting up the new (old) versions of the songs on my blog! Get em hot while ya can. The three songs are Bullring, Final Number, and Me & The City. I think they sound pretty different. Not only is Bryce's bumpin bass missing from the mix, but Irene and I have some guitar licks that aren't found in the new songs. Also her melodies have changed, and possibly some lyrics even. Anyway enjoy this little piece of the past. If it doesn't start on it's own, just hit that litte play button on the mp3 player in the right hand corner.
This week's feature - Bullring!
